  How can Opaquers and Tints be used?

  • Directly between bonded tooth surface and overlaying resin.  
  • Between layers of composite resin.  
  • In the surface of the resin to produce hypoplasia, check lines
    and maverick colors.

Opaquers:Creative Color Opaquers were designed to block out unwanted colors beneath the area to be restored. The workable characteristics are:

Tints:Creative Color Tints are used to impart character to a restoration. The workable characteristics are:

• Premixed to the same viscosity and consistency as the opaquers.
• Very translucent and polishable.
• The tints cover the spectrum with fairly intense chroma.
• Allow you to easily impart incisal translucency and cervical darkening and surface artifacts such as craze and check lines.
• Also used for occlusal pit and fissure staining.
